Adapting to College Academics

Before I arrived at Penn State, I was very apprehensive about the difficulty of my academic classes. In my high school academic classes, I was not very challenged, and I often got away with taking the easy-way-out. This semester, in addition to my music classes, I took a math class, a literature class, and an environmental efficiency class. I found that having a full schedule helped me to manage my time better. This semester, I have learned that the key to success is managing your time and not procrastinating. This is not to say that I haven't had difficult or stressful assignments, but for the most part, starting assignments ahead of time has really benefited me. If I had realized this in high school, it would have made my life a lot easier. Time management has made me successful and kept me motivated.
